Hello and welcome to Balsam Ledge. My name is Leslie. I live in a small town in Maine with my husband of over 30 years. In 2016, we purchased land and built our current home. On our property we raise a few farm animals and grow as much of our own food as possible. In 2019, I left my full time job to stay home and focus on a more self-sufficient lifestyle. Having time at home gave me the opportunity to try a craft that I had been wanting to learn for a long time…soap making. I was especially interested in goat milk soaps. In 2023, I opened an Etsy shop originally selling scented wax melts and soon expanding my product line to include goat milk soaps scented with essential oils and colored with plant based colorants. I am currently working to create a traditional line of soaps scented with fragrance oils and colored with mica powder. Soap making has been a wonderful experience for me and I hope to continue learning and growing -expanding my product line as I do.
